For modern fruit growers, managing an orchard is a balancing act. Weather unpredictability, labor shortages during peak harvest, subtle microclimate stress, and sudden disease outbreaks mean that traditional “walk-the-field” monitoring is no longer enough. Spotting an issue two days too late can mean the difference between a high-value harvest and significant yield loss.
At REDIGA, we believe farming shouldn’t rely on guesswork. That is why we are excited to showcase our newest active demosite in Lithuania: Tado Ūkis.

Field-Testing PVgrow on Dwarf Apple and Pear Trees
At Tado Ūkis, our crop-first AI software, PVgrow, is currently deployed across commercial rows of dwarf apple and dwarf pear trees.
Serving as an autonomous digital “babysitter” for the orchard, PVgrow continuously monitors crop health and environmental parameters row by row:
- Phenology & Growth Stage Tracking: Automatically tracking crop biological progress – from winter dormancy through budding, full bloom, fruit set, and optimal ripeness.
- Real-Time Anomaly & Health Detection: Spotting early visual markers of plant stress, physical orchard anomalies, and disease risks before they spread site-wide.
- Actionable Maintenance Notifications: Filtering complex environmental and visual data into direct, actionable alerts – such as frost warnings, irrigation adjustments, or maintenance tasks.
While our AI visual models were initially trained and perfected on pears during extensive field testing in the Netherlands, the demosite at Tado Ūkis allows us to refine and expand our AI algorithms for apples, proving the platform’s adaptability across fruit species and regional microclimates.

Grounded in Proven Field Results
PVgrow is not a theoretical prototype. Our deployment at Tado Ūkis builds directly upon a growing list of successful field validation projects across Europe:
- Greenhouse Leafy Greens Project (Lithuania, 2024): Deployed AI light-balancing models over sensitive crops, achieving a proven 3–5% increase in crop yield.
- Netherlands Pear Orchard / TALOS Project (2025): Scaled AI models in open-field conditions with off-grid sensors, achieving 73% AI pear detection accuracy and maintaining over 90% system uptime in extreme temperatures up to +65°C.
- Pears & Apples Project / Tado Ūkis (Lithuania, 2026): Full commercial farm integration testing cross-species scalability and microclimate adaptability.
- Upcoming Vineyard Expansion (2027 Q2): Expanding into viticulture to protect hyper-sensitive grapes from frost and sudden sunlight shifts.

What’s Next: Expanding to New Crop Varieties

While our core models are currently specialized for pears and apples, our software architecture is designed to learn fast. We are actively expanding PVgrow’s vision and predictive engines to cover a wider spectrum of agricultural crops – including berries, stone fruits, viticulture, and greenhouse produce.
